Context
INTO is a private sector, partnering organization transforming
the internationalization strategies and student experience of its
university partners worldwide, through a $2 billion investment
program. In long-term joint ventures we deliver pathway courses for
international students that lead to undergraduate and postgraduate study.
Requirements
INTO is looking for a dynamic individual, who will be based in
Shanghai, with experience in sales and marketing able to communicate
effectively the benefits of an overseas education to our partners,
students and their parents. The applicant will be a highly responsible
individual with strong understanding of the UK education system. Key
responsibilities include the following:
- Supporting INTO Regional Offices, including INTO and partner
university colleagues;
- Managing and training education agencies;
- Conducting promotional activities in different regional market; and
- Managing enrollment and cost budgets.
The successful applicant will be a UK University graduate (Scottish
University Preferred), with excellent communication skills in English
and Chinese. They must be able to demonstrate a strong track record and
experience in sales and marketing and have an understanding of
international student recruitment. Organisation and attention to detail
is essential, as are strong numeracy and IT skills with the ability to
prepare and analyse reports. The candidate will be able to demonstrate a
record in managing enrollments and cost budgets and be willing to travel extensively.

Marketing Region
- Supporting Regional Managers in: Beijing, North China, Shanghai,
Central China, South China, West China, Hong Kong and Macau.
1) Supporting Regional Offices
You will work closely with, and support, the Regional Managers to
manage INTO’s regional operations across China. This includes the following:
- Handle inquiries and correspondence;
- Maintain office records, equipment, files and other documents;
- Manage your own Marketing accounts;
- Submit monthly Marketing accounts to relevant INTO staff; and
- Promote and maximise INTO’s overall interests.
2) Supporting INTO Colleagues
You will work closely with, and support, INTO colleagues and INTO
partner university representatives in China and abroad on a wide range
of tasks, including the following:
- INTO promotional activities;
- Coordinating marketing schedules for INTO colleagues and partner university
- representatives;
- Assisting Admissions colleagues with application queries and
liaison with agents; and
- Providing INTO line management with up-to-date feedback on local
agents, markets
- and competitors.
3) Agent Network Management
You will assist Regional Managers to accomplish the following:
- Maintain regular contact with, and provide close support to, INTO agents;
- Make strategic decisions on which agents to work closely with, and
which agents to
- downgrade or terminate, to maximise INTO’s interests;
- Maintain an effective agent network by constant recruitment of
new, strong agents, and
- the termination of ineffective or problematic agents;
- Train agents effectively and constantly to ensure they deliver
high quality applications
- and represent INTO in a positive light;
- Coordinate the timely distribution of promotional materials and
the translation and
- distribution of INTO news items to agents;
- Ensure INTO agents maintain a positive view of INTO, its staff,
and its partner
- universities through your courteous and professional manner;
- Assist agents in resolving problems or misunderstandings; and
- Travel extensively across China to conduct regular agent visits
and training; to participate in joint promotional activities; and to
counsel students and their families.
4) INTO Promotional Activities and Enrollment Budgets
You will work closely with, and support, INTO colleagues and INTO
partner university representatives on a wide range of promotional
activities, including the following, to achieve successful delivery of
student enrollment budgets:
- Logistical preparations for INTO meetings, seminars, and exhibitions;
- Make strategic decisions on which promotional activities to
participate in to maximise INTO’s interests;
- Represent INTO at exhibitions and other promotional events, where
giving seminars and extensive counseling to students are typically
required; and
- Accompany and assist INTO colleagues and partner university
representatives to conduct agent visits, agent training, and
promotional activities.
5) Other Duties on Request
INTO is developing rapidly, and circumstances and requirements are
likely to change throughout the course of your work at INTO. INTO
therefore requires you to commit to the following principles:
- To be flexible and to assist with all reasonable duties on
request, as directed by line management;
- To acknowledge that it is not possible to provide an exhaustive
description of all responsibilities. The duties will include, but
will not be limited to, the above; and
- To undertake to perform a wide range of different duties as part
of a team.
